physical metaphor…..
…..the feeling of entering water, especially really cold water, where we contract, Saturn, squosh fear…daunting
Then the Saturn discipline of releasing, relaxing against the fear, releasing resistance
to the cold….
On the other side of that ack is expansive water frolicking…. Jupiter…. the piscean realms….
First Saturn – then Jupiter…
ughhhh then aaahhhhhh
Guiding metaphor for any ack, omg,
….election debacle, un furling horror, tighten,
relax…inhale…exhale…
I was once cajoled into the annual swim across Tamales Bay in Point Reyes, by friends saying –
“it’s not a race…” “o, ok…”
The water is really cold, had been trying it out
…and the distance was daunting (2 miles round trip. I swim 1 mile often in pools.)
But remember in Harry Potter, when he has to swim in deep dark cold water to rescue his friends, and Dobby, the house-elf comes through, and hands him some gilly-weed as Harry, pale and scared, enters the water.
At first he is paralyzed by cold and fear…then as he munches on the gilly-weed, he finds his rhythm…(Saturn) swoosh (in Pisces)… and grows gills….
Well, it was like that…
I entered the water, and it was so cold, I thought, end of Hesse’s "Glass Bead Game"…. ( a
great novel, at the end of which the protagonist dives into cold water, heart stops and dies… "transcend transcend" are his final thoughts…)
Then maybe 1/2 mile in found rhythm, translated, as with gilly weed, into being with the water… reaching the shore, turning around, on the way back- exultant… getting to the return shore – “yea! let’s do it again…!”
and hot cocoa is good…
all these are guiding metaphors….
Eiren and I had a moment of spontaneous bonding via Terry Pratchett, when I brought up
Tiffany Achen, his young girl witch. She is helping the old patriarch to die, taking away his pain…
"The first thing she learned in witchcraft was to let the pain flow through you – not into you. The center of the see-saw is neither up nor down, yet up-ness and down-ness flow through it."
Metaphoric choreography with which to animate in liberating fashion….
