Last night walking with the dogs late….just before midnight ...
Looking at the waxing Moon, I thought, “ooh, I bet the Moon is at 21+ Libra…"
(My Sun and Neptune degree)
Looked it up on my app - and it was!

Similarly, was feeling the themes of Pentecost Sunday….
Ooh, when was Pentecost Sunday, I just now queried the gods of the Internet:

"Pentecost Sunday in 2024
This year, Pentecost will be on Sunday, May 19th, 2024 occurring seven weeks after Easter Sunday (March 31)”

I love that I could feel it… The synchronous field is alive and real…..

Perfect….  I was flailing around in the wilderness….and thinking of Pentecost,
one of my favorite Christian Pagan Mythic syncretisms….

Twas on Pentecost Sunday that Arthur convened the Council of the Round Table, whereupon a White Stag leapt into court.
Arthur said, "Nature has sent us an emissary, that we humans mend our manners and come back into accord with Nature, that the Wasteland may bloom again.”
Basically: "Let us all Re-Wild!"

Arthur (Bear) then sent each out alone in to the wilderness…
“And each entered the forest, alone, where it was darkest for them, to do otherwise would have been dishonorable.” (sayeth the Grail Legend)

To form Community- we must each enter the Darkness alone...

Arthur enjoined them "Let each return, only after having had a significant encounter with the Natural World.”

Oooh….Without consciously knowing it , I went forth, at the dogs worthy insistence, late last night, as the Moon was on my Sun-Neptune, my living kinship Myth self, on Pentecost Sunday!….
and immediately we encountered a very calm deer, then joined by another, maybe ten feet away…
Dogs all anomalously calm…Everyone nibbling greens, so I did too….
and we had a very relaxed conversation….
Dogs and I strolled on, then joined by dauntingly  jaunty Fox….
We too conversed…
(and the previous week, when I opened my car door, there was a very young fox? coyote? puppy, with baby fur….
We gazed…
Then it completely vanished..)

Now, another Reason I love Pentecost Sunday - tis when, after the knights had returned from their solo forest wandering, the Holy Ghost descends as a flaming Dove on the head of each, granting them the capacity to speak and Understand all Languages….

Let’s certainly include the Language of Flora Fauna Fungi ……

and

The Sun has just now entered Gemini, the realm of all language….
With the Query, what do we love in Nature for which we are willing to be a Messenger….

Again, I did not know the Sun had entered Gemini , but I could feel it….

Always:  we cannot live through the Dead, but we can invite the best in them to live and love  through us…

And in Dion Fortune’s splendiferous novel “Moon Magic”- the heroine is all bewildered and in a tizzy about this and that...

She goes back into her home, and sees the Full Moon (waxing now -Full on this Thursday!), shining through the window, illuminating the humble vase of flowers she had dedicated to serve as an invitation for Isis, goddesss of Nature to enter the world….

And she feels this tremendous down-rush of energy …..that reverse kundalini-hums her entire being!
and she says, “it did not matter that I was troubled, confused, forlorn, bewildered…
The dedicated (Saturn) invitation of the vase of flowers had clearly been accepted, and in the language of the adepts I was back on my contacts!"

Lights Out for Birds…

Peak Migration: Peak Time To Turn Lights Out
 

During peak migration periods, more than a billion birds may be in the air on a single night. It’s an awesome spectacle, but it’s also a dangerous time for birds that can become disoriented by city lights and collide with windows. All types of buildings, from skyscrapers to low-rises to residences, can cause collisions.

To help keep birds safe, BirdCast recommends turning out nonessential lighting from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., or drawing curtains to keep light inside. Add shields to external lighting to direct light downward and out of the skies. In the U.S., taking these steps from February 15 to June 15 will save the most birds during spring migration—making it a year-round effort will also benefit wildlife, human health, and energy savings. If it’s not feasible to go Lights Out for all of spring migration, you can still do a lot of good by dimming lights during the busiest 3 weeks of migration—that’s how long it typically takes for 50% of migrants to pass through your area. For planning purposes, BirdCast has compiled a list of these busiest migration periods for about 1,000 U.S. cities.
